Cell Salt #8: Magnesium Phosphate (Mag Phos)

*note: Healthy Goods no longer sells cell salts, but we left this content for your information.

Mag Phos is the eighth of the twelve cell salts and has been called the "homeopathic aspirin" because of its ability to heal acute pains anywhere such as earache, headache, toothache (including teething in babies), and even sciatica—as long as the pains are better with the use of heat and pressure.

Where is Mag Phos found?

It is primarily found in the body's nerves, bones, and muscles, including the heart.

How can Mag Phos help you?

PAINS AND SPASMS

This remedy is primarily known for its terrific ability to treat spasms, menstrual and stomach cramps, darting pains, hiccups, muscle twitching and convulsions, spasmodic palpitation of the heart, and spasmodic yawning. It is also useful for any stabbing, burning, and often quite severe pain that occurs along a damaged nerve.

MENSTRUAL CRAMPS

Mag Phos won’t work for all women but it will relieve a significant number suffering from this miserable complaint. It won’t necessarily cure the problem but it will provide much appreciated relief—as long as the pains are much better for heat and pressure. Those needing this remedy can be found lying doubled up in bed with a hot water bottle (or heating pad) pressed into their crampy abdomens. Hot baths also relieve the pains.

NEUROLOGICAL COMPLAINTS

Interestingly, all of the phosphate cell salts (Calc Phos, Nat Phos, and Mag Phos) are very useful with nervous and neurological complaints as well.

NUTRITION

This salt is found in cereals, grains and beer. Many people are deficient in Magnesium Phosphate and a craving for these foods and drink may signal a need for this particular remedy.
