Whether you're already head over heels for matcha, indifferent, or have never even tried it, I assure you there's something so perfect about the merging of these ingredients that makes it mouth-watering.
Matcha green tea is great for so many reasons. It's loaded with antioxidants, which can help fight free radicals in the body and promote long-term health. It also provides L-theanine, an amino acid that helps your body process caffeine differently – giving you a sustained energy boost without any jitters or crashing. Its beautiful green color comes from chlorophyll, which supports normal detoxification processes.
As if the matcha benefits weren't enough, adding collagen will give this drink a protein boost. Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body, and is responsible for supporting the lining of the gut and maintaining healthy ligaments, tendons, skin, hair, and nails. It's the "glue" that holds our body together.
Don't forget the coconut butter because the fat adds satiety, and will support a healthy gut.
I hope you enjoy this brain-lifting, full-bodied, energizing drink.
I N G R E D I E N T S
½ to 1 teaspoon matcha green tea powder
1 scoop collagen powder
1-2 Tbsp coconut butter
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp adaptogens of choice (ashwagandha, reishi mushroom, chaga mushroom and maca are great choices)
14 oz. hot water. Let the water cool slightly so you don't scorch your ingredients.
D I R E C T I O N S
Blend matcha, collagen, coconut butter, cinnamon, adaptogen and water together in a blender. Blend until frothy and foamy, about 20-30 seconds.
**I prefer to use my aero latte hand blender to skip the big blender all together.
Pour into a cup, and slowly savor this delicious drink.
This drink can also be stored in an airtight container to drink cold over ice within 24 hours.
