Argan is an oil pressed from the nuts of the argan tree, native to an area of southwestern Morocco. Moroccans use skin-nourishing argan oil head to toe and export it all over the globe.Â
If you're looking for a way to incorporate this anti-aging, moisturizing, and all-natural oil into your daily beauty regimen, give this homemade exfoliating facial scrub and clay mask a try! It's significantly less expensive than what you can purchase in the store.
Regular exfoliation removes dead skin cells and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, while giving you a younger fresher complexion. With the aid of the fine salt, the argan oil’s nutrients are more readily absorbed into your skin.
Use this exfoliator for more than just your face! If you have dry elbows or heels (or during an at-home pedicure) mix up a bit more to massage the dry and dead skin away!
Instructions
Blend ½ Tbsp argan oil with ½ tsp fine salt and apply to cleansed skin on forehead, cheeks, and chin. Rub gently in circular motions, avoiding the eye area. Rinse with water and pat dry.
Mix 2 tsp clay powder (at health food stores) with a small amount of water until it makes a thick paste. Apply to your face (again skipping the eye area) and let dry for 10 minutes. Remove with warm water and dampened washcloth. Finish by patting on a few drops of argan oil.Â
Enjoy!
