Detoxification and Dietary Fiber
Eating enough dietary fiber is always important, but it’s especially crucial while detoxifying. When your liver dumps toxins into your GI tract, food fibers will tend to capture those toxins and trap them, ultimately transporting them out of your body through bowel movements. But if you are eating a low-fiber diet, you potentially have a huge problem because the intestines don’t have dietary fibers to trap the toxins your liver is dumping into your small intestines! Those toxins end up getting reabsorbed right back through your intestinal walls and into your blood.

High-fiber foods include vegetables, fruit, legumes, lentils, and whole grains with at least 3 grams of fiber per serving.
