What is Henna?
Henna comes from the lawsonia inermis plant, indigenous to the hot climates of North Africa, the Middle East, and India. It imparts sheen, body, and color to the hair without chemically-altering its structure.
Unlike traditional dyes that weaken the hair shaft, henna binds with the keratin of the hair, preventing brittleness and breakage. It wears off gradually over 8-12 weeks, eliminating the "dye line" issue we've all seen (or experienced).
While there are many imposters on the market, Morrocco Method Hennas are 100% pure plant material. No metallic salts, ammonia, PPD or other chemicals.
Isn't Henna Red? How Are So Many Different Colors Available?
Lawsonia inermis is naturally a red-orange dye, but Morrocco Method is able to achieve their color variety by adding in or using other plant powders. Their browns and black are mixtures of Lawsonia inermis and Indigofera tinctoria in varying ratios. Neutral Henna is pure Cassia obovata. Blonde Henna is actually Cassia obovata mixed with marigold and chamomile flowers.
Henna + Amla Berry Powder: The Perfect Pairing
According to Morrocco Method, adding amla powder to their hennas will prevent fading, enhance dye uptake, and prevent relaxed curls/waves from henna use. It can also be used as a treatment by itself to add body and shine to your hair.
